What Causes Recurrent Vomiting And Sore Throat?

My son threw up at school at 2:30 yesterday, hasn t thrown up since, but doesn t feel well still. Has sore throat, a little bit of a stuffy nose. We are just concerned because this happens about 2 - 3 times a year since he was 1 year old. Sometimes, it only lasts 6 hours. Is it normal for kids to throw up that often in a year for no reason and then be all better?
