What Causes Recurrent White Bumps Near Frenulum Piercing In Mouth?

I have my frenulum (web) pierced and haven't had any problems. I am a smoker but I'm trying to stop. I have maybe a smoke a day. Recently I have been getting a single white bump close to the piercing. It's not painful or anything but it looks like a pimple. What could it be? Should I go see a doctor?

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

A white bump on the frenulum that is not painful can be most probably a Mucocele that occurs due to obliteration in the duct of minor salivary gland..

It is commonly harmless as well as painless and resolves on its own..

In case if the bump becomes inflamed and painful then it can be probably an ulcer..

So as of now you should do concentrated salt water rinses and watch if it shows improvement or not..

If there is no improvement or if it worsen consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
