What Causes Recurring UTI Along With Blood In Urine?
Hi, I have been suffering from multiple UTIs over the last 12 months. A recent urine test revealed a small amount of blood and lucosytes? -if that s the correct name.......although I haven t been experiencing any bladder pain, but do have some pain in my groin graduating to my legs. Also, have a feeling of weakness in all my limbs. Do you think this could be something to do with my kidneys? Thankyou very much, Jackie
Urinary tract infections are the commonest bacterial infection Predisposing factors in old age include diabetes, urinary tract stones, steroid use, and chronic illness impairing immune system. Pain in groin and leg may be due UTI. Advice 1. Drink plenty of water to flush out bacteria 2. Drink cranberry juice 3. Do not hold your urine. Urinate when you feel 4. Urinate after having sex to flush bacteria 5. Syrup alkaline citrate 2 teaspoonful three times daily for 20 days 6. Investigation – R/E of urine, C/S of urine, USG abdomen and pelvis 7. Ciprofloxacin 500 mg every 12 hours per oral for 7 days 8. Change antibiotic after culture and sensitivity report If recurrence still occurs despite above measures then cefalexin 125 mg daily per oral may be taken for 6 months as prophylactic treatment. Thanks
