What Causes Recurring Abdominal Cramps In Left Side?

I ve had multiple abdominal surgeries in the past 6 years. About 3 years go I started experiencing left side abdominal cramps that are like Charlie horses. The pain is a 10. My potassium level is normal. Muscle relaxer does help. When the flexeril was gone the pain came back. What could be the cause?

Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, you have surgeries and then cramps so it could be a sequel of the surgery. I would recommend you to get ultrasound of the abdomen done plus get your basic blood tests like complete blood counts and urine routine examination done. Continue to take muscle relaxant till then.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
