Recurrent abscess formation may indicate: (1) that some of the infective aspects have not been removed when the area is incised and drained (2)the infection is not responsive to the antibiotics used. It may be resistant (3)your immune system is impaired- your doctors may want to determine if there are issues with your immune response.
I hope this helps
