What Causes Recurring Bladder Infection Along With Blood In Urine?

Last week I had a bladder infection that progressed into bloody urine with blood clots. I was put on a Sulfa drug which eradicated my symptom in 24 hours. Should I be concerned about the bleeding. This is the second time this happened. The last time was about 3 yrs ago.

Welcome at HCM
i have gone through your query and being your physician I completely understand your health concerns...
What is your age? Sex? Do u have any history of renal stones? Are u diabetic?
Based upon your history in my opinion you should continue with your medications for another five days... And you can repeat urinalysis after that. You should also get an abdominal and pelvic ultrasound scan to rule out any pathology... If u are sexually active then do avoid unprotected one...
Meanwhile take rest and drink of plenty of water....
Hope your query is addressed adequately..
Regards
Dr saad Sultan
