What Causes Recurring Congestion, Fatigue, Chills, Sore Throat And Loss Of Voice?

Hi! I have been having the following symptoms...congestion, fatigue, headache, periodic chills/fever. When I wake up in the morning, my throat is sore, but goes away. Although by the end of the day I m losing my voice. I ve been using Day Quill which helps, but has not cured it. I m wondering if this is something I should be seen for or will just take time?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It seems like laryngitis which is most commonly caused by a viral infection that inflames the vocal cords. The treatment is just supportive, Tylenol or Advil, stay hydrated, breathe humidified air, use honey and rest. You will be better in few days.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Blerina Pasho, General & Family Physician
