What Causes Recurring Cough And Soar Throat And Reddish Eyes With Discharge?

Hello, about six weeks ago I got a very bad cough, soar throat, and lung congestion. It eventually went away. A couple of weeks ago I traveled and got very little sleep. Symptoms came back but also with red eyes with discharge. Currently I have some swollen throat and tight chest still. What do you think this is and sho I see a doctor or just rest?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to allergy. It can be due to allergy from any thing you expose like dust or food items or animals or insects. Allergy test will be helpful to rule out that. Avoiding contact with such allergen is the best remedy. Taking antihistamines like levocetirizine and mast cell stabilzers like monteleukast for long term will be helpful also. Short course corticosteroids will help to abort the attacks.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
