What Causes Recurring Cracking And Pain In Lower Back Post Injury?

I took a blow to my back during a football game. Pain got worse over three / four days. Acute pain now settled but I m day 12 post injury and feel a lot of a popping sensation in my back when I breathe or move or if I press it. Usually this isn t painful as such. Sometimes it get an anodising pain just for a minute or so when I can t move or take a proper breath. What is the popping? What is that acute pain? Nerve perhaps? When is it likely to go away? Thanks

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Intervertebral disc injury can give such popping sensation and pain. A consultation with an orthopedician followed by X ray and a MRI if required will help to rule out the condition. Wearing lumbar supporting corsets , NSAIDs like aceclofenac and muscle relaxants like thiocolchicoside will be helpful . This should be followed by muscle strengthening exercises and physiotherapy.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
