What Causes Recurring Dizziness And Elevated WBC Count Post Intake Of Medrol?

I was given a 4mg pak Medrol. The Dr. believed I had an inner ear infection. I have had no ear problems whatsoever, but I was very dizzy and my white blood cells was way up. I am still somewhat dizzy, but no longer in bed for 4 days flat and able to perform cooking for husband and some other home duties. The nurse(s) believed from the blood work drawn, that I had some infection, possibly in the intestinal area. I took the last one tablet today, but I am still somewhat not the same. Tired, very tired and don t feel normal and still have a bit of dizziness.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Elevated white blood may indicate an infection. This may well be caused by inner ear infection. It's good that you are improving. However after infection the fatigue and tiredness may persists for few days even if the infecting is successfully treated.

So if you are are improving then there is nothing to worry about the hang over effects of the infection. It should be fine in few days. Take good diet and more fluid. Avoid too much work.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
