What Causes Recurring Dizziness And Headaches?

Have dizziness when I turn over in bed or when I stoop over to brush teeth, etc. Have had headache for a couple of days, but Ibuprofin eliminates. Seems to be getting better. Should I go to doctor. Happened before a few years ago and doctor put a collar on me for a week.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The information provided by you in your present complaint and post history. It seems you have cervical spondylitis. An imaging investigation like X-ray or MRI (depending on advice after physical examination) would pin point the cause followed by specific management (medicines, injection, physiotherapy, surgery in few cases). Till then you should avoid bending neck, taking a thick pillow while sleeping. Over the counter pain medicines would reduce the pain to some extent.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
