What Causes Recurring Dizziness?

Hello, I woke up this morning feeling real dizzy.... It would come and go through out the day. It is now 5:00 pm and I have been laying down since 1:30 pm. But when I would get out of bed I felt drunk feeling or rather I couldn t walk a straight line. Now when I stay up it would come and go. (This is my first problem) Then my wrist (left) near the vein, would have a deep throb ever once in awhile. Do u think this is in relation to the dizzy problem? I have herd people can have a heart attack with just wrist pain so I just want to be cautious!!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Dizziness could be caused due to abnormal blood pressure, blood sugar or nutritional deficiency, inner ear disorders affecting body balance and rarely neurological disorders. I would suggest you to check your BP, blood glucose and complete blood counts to rule out anemia or other abnormalities. ECG, audiogram, X-ray neck and CT brain may be required if above tests are normal.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
