What Causes Recurring Fever Along With Itchy Nose And Lips?

Hi Dr, I noticed that I have been having recurrent typhoid fever/ malaria in the last 4 months despite taking my medications as prescribed, boiling my drinking water, and proper washing of fruits before eating. In addition, before the start of the fever, I start having itching nose and lips. Kindly advise on what to do as this affects only me in my family. Thanks and regards

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of recurring fever along with itchy nose and lips . Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to many reasons like acute meningitis , chickenpox , poor immunity of body, contact dermatitis , erythema nodosum and heat rash. Need not to worry. I would suggest you not apply any cosmetic product , protect it from direct sunlight and apply cold compresses. you should take proper course of antibiotics along with plenty of fluids to rehydrate body. I would suggest you to consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may order blood test , allergy test and skin patch test to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe immunosuppressants and corticosteroid ointment along with antibacterial or antiviral depending upon the diagnosis . For now take benadryl twice .
