General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
Repeated fever with cold suggests: -Baby is being exposed to some allergen (from food intake, excessive cold, smoke, bed dust) which needs to be identified and avoided along with permissible dose of antihistaminic advised by his doctor -Possibility of drug resistance, thus no effect on causative organisms
This needs investigations like CBC, allergy screening test, culture and sensitivity of nasal secretions of the baby. The test would suggest effective antibiotic. The doses are to be decided by her doctor. Please discuss the thing with the treating doctor for having a specific personalised advice.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
