What Causes Recurring Foul Odor Burps And Severe Vomiting?

For the past several years, I have suffered from egg-smelling belches followed by a 24-hour period of intense vomiting. I've always called it food poisoning, but it's been happening once a week lately, and I can't pinpoint any one food as the cause...perhaps it's pesticides on fruit or contaminated water? I've also read a lot about H. pylori infections. Please help! Each episode gets worse, and I'm afraid to eat anything. Thank you!

Understanding your concern.

There can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like :-

- Sulfur containing foods like onion .

- Problem in food digestion due to liver dysfunction or other reasons .

- Pathogenic bacteria like H. pylori or Giardia lamblia,.

I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination .

Doctor may order stool test , liver function test , endoscopy , abdominal ultrasound and Blood test to confirm the diagnosis .

Doctor may prescribe antibiotics for at least 10 days .

Avoid sulfur containing foods .
