Hello. I have been having heart palps for over a month off and on. I have been to the emergency room twice they did tests ekg normal, blood work normal, diagnosed it as stress. I then went to see a cardiologist the same tests were done couldn t find anything, just stress related. My cardiologist has me wearing a heart holter for 30 days, and I am getting frustrated because i do not know what is causing the heart palps. They keep telling me they are harmless, but sometimes I feel like they are controlling my life.
Hi welcome to HCM. Recurrent palpitations of the heart need to be carefully addressed before coining them to be stress related and benign.I strongly recommend you to have a baseline ecg and 2 dimensional echo to rule out organic heart disease.24hr holter ecg will accurately determine the ectopics.Drugs like anxiolytics and beta blockers will help to control the undue palpitations.Radiofrequency ablation will help to offer permanent cure if any.Consult your cardiologist for further help. Thank you.
