What Causes Recurring Hoarse Voice?

My voice gets hoarse a lot with no apparent reason, except that I m a teacher. I ve noticed this started a couple of months ago after being sick with a virus and almost getting a pneumonia. It usually goes away overnight, but then comes back again in a few days. What do you think is the cause or a reason?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hi..from your history,it seems that u may be having vocal nodule, which is very common among singers and teachers due to voice abuse for the longer period....vocal nodule is a non cancerous bumb that develops in the vocal cord....u can visit your doctor and get it confirmed by laryngoscopy......treatment for vocal nodule is just voice therapy and avoidance of any activities leading to voice abuse like screaming, singing etc...
I find this answer helpful
