What Causes Recurring Itching In Body With Burning Feet And Hands?
Hi Doctor. I ve been experiencing this for almost 2 weeks now. Some of my body part are very itchy every night. Sometimes my hands and feet are itchy and burning. And I m wondering if this could be from the weather, because if I ll go to cold place or wash it in cold water it stop a while the itchiness. Please help what to do because every night I can sleep well. Thank you

You have been suffering for the last 2 weeks now, Some of the body parts are very itchy every night, sometimes the hands and feet are itchy but settle if you wash in cold water although temporarily.
This indicates that there is allergic reaction of the body to something in the atmosphere. Merely washing the hands and feet with cold water helps to remove the allergen load temporarily. Hence stops the allergy.
I would suggest you to take an antihistamine regularly and consult your Doctor so that you get a prescription if required for oral steroids.

High levels of bile salts in blood lead to intense itching.
Bile salts are elevated due to liver dysfunction.
Thus, liver function tests will be required.
Local causes of intense itching include dry skin, skin infestation with scabies etc.
A clinical assessment of the skin where itching is intense is required to look for any signs of dryness or scabies along with liver function tests.
Dry skin does become itchy.
Thus, you need to use skin emollients to prevent dryness of skin.
Calamine lotion is one such preparation which will provide soothing effect to the itchy skin.
For final diagnosis, you need to consult a dermatologist for clinical assessment and thus treatment.
