Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Recurring Itchy Rashes And Red Bumps On The Body?
For the last few days I have itching in different areas on my body. Once I scratch them small red bumps appear. Itching more at night than during the day. I have been applying lotion every morning thinking it may have been dry skin. Was sick for a month with an upper respiratory thing and was on steroids for a week. I did have the itching when I was on those also. I am taking Benadryl and helps with some of the itching. Nothing has changed medicine wise or no new cleaning products. Any ideas of what could be going on?
As per your query you have symptoms of recurring itchy rashes and red bumps on the body which is probably due to a viral infection which is lowering down your immunity and could be due to allergic reactions.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you take a combination of the antiviral drug along with anti-inflammatory medications. Apply an ice pack to reduce itchiness and redness. Take diet rich in multivitamins and vitamin C. Your symptoms will resolve in 4-5 days. If symptoms keep on persisting visit dermatologist once and get some routine blood investigation and skin patch test done. Avoid application of any cosmetics.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
