Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Do you have associated vertigo / vomiting (suggesting BPPV / positional vertigo)? If no vomiting / vertigo, this suggests a condition called vaso-vagal syncope. Here, when we suddenly gets upright, blood pressure falls (postural hypotension), causing transient inadequacy of blood supply to our brain leads to these symptoms. This is especially common if we are dehydrated, or drink inadequate fluid. So drink enough fluids, and avoid getting up all of a sudden.

If this continues to happen despite having adequate fluids, we will need to have basic evaluation including blood pressure and sometimes an ECG to rule out other causes.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam TK, Pediatrician
