What Causes Recurring Loss Of Voice?

My voice comes and goes, with no apparent cause(s). I ve tried eliminating what might be causative factors such as some of my vitamins, herbs, almonds, and some foods (none of which have caused issues in the past), but to no avail. I don t have a fever or an infection, and my neck lymph nodes are not swollen. Additionally, I have no pain and no cough. The only way I can speak and project my voice is when I speak in higher ranges...almost Mickey Mouse-like. Any thoughts?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have recurring loss of voice. Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to certain reasons like viral infections , bacterial infection , exposure to harmful chemicals or allergens ,frequent sinus infections or overusing. Laryngitis must be the reason for voice loss and infection may occur due to low immunity very frequently. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan , throat swab test , viral culture test or endoscopy . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like amoxicillin or penicillin along with anti inflammatory . Doctor may also prescribe anti viral . For now do warm saline gargles and apply warm compresses externally on larynx .

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
