What Causes Recurring Low Grade Fever?

I have had low grade fever for over a year on and off. I have been to medical doctor who did blood work. My strep came back at greater than 900. They sent me to disease doctor who performed blood cultures with no answer from anyone. Still today no answer and I am not any better

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Viral infections are the most common cause of persistent low-grade fever.

But on and off low-grade fever cannot be due to viral infection and I will request you to consult your doctor to investigate thoroughly for tuberculosis which certainly needs to be ruled out.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Prabhash Verma, General & Family Physician
