General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The alteration in the stool consistency with pain in lower abdomen can be part of inflammatory bowel disorder as Crohn's disease, IBS, malabsorption issues or others. In my clinic, after primary evaluation with physical exam, a stool microscopy report is mandatory to proceed for presence of any fat globules, pus cells, epithelial cells, occult blood or others.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
