Hello and welcome to HCM,
Is there any history of breathing problem like asthma?
Gasping feeling after taking shower may be due to airway obstruction as seen in airway obstruction in conditions like asthma.
If there is no such problem, gasping after taking shower may be psychological and not organic.
I suggest you to consult a pulmonologist for clinical assessment.
Rheumatoid arthritis can affect the pleura - covering of the lungs by causing inflammation of pleura and pleural effusion.
However, pleural involvement is unlikely to causing gasping and breathing difficulty.
Thus, consultation with a pulmonogist is necessary.
Pre-natal vitamin supplements are not likely to affect breathing.

Thanks and take care
