Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Recurring Pain And Swelling On Testicles?
Recently finished a course of antibiotics for diagnosed epididymitis. (10 days doxycycline, 14 days Levaquin) Began to get close to 100% better 2 days after I completed antibiotics. Yesterday the pain and swelling returned, not nearly as bad as it was before, but pain and swelling have returned nonetheless. Should I call my urologist again or will this episode of pain/swelling pass? I do not feel that this is an emergency because as I said before, the pain/swelling is not nearly as bad.
Hi welcome to HCM Looking at your history and recurrence of symptoms after a course of antibiotics is suggestive of chronic epididymoorchitis I would advise you to visit your urologist for ultrasound and to look for any residual lesion you may require 3rd generation cephalosporin group of antibiotics
I am sorry for the situation you are facing again. I am happy that the actual swelling is not as bad as earlier. However, I still think you should call your urologist again as you need another course of antibiotics to ease the swelling.
Wish fast recovery!
