Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Recurring Pain Radiating From Testicles To Lower Back?
I get a pain in my left testicle at first, them it goes to my lower back/kidney also on my left side. It last anywhere from 8 hours to 3 days. It doesn t gradually appear, nor does it gradually go away, starts fast, ends fast. While it is hurting, intense pain, I can t eat or drink anything, throw it up instantly. This only happens when I m tired or working hard in the heat. I hydrate like crazy, so I m at a loss
Recurrent radiating pain from testicles to lower back can be due to different reasons. It can be due to infection or due to trauma to the area around that went unnoticed. Although other causes like nerve compression or kidney related issue cannot be denied.
I suggest you seek medical help from a general surgeon on this. A physical examination is necessary of the affected area. As well as there doctor might advice some diagnostic tests like ultrasound abdomen, Doppler scan of the testicles or an MRI scan along with some blood tests if required. He will also suggest appropriate pain management medicine for temporary relief. Depending on the results further guidance will be provided by the doctor for relief.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Manisha Auradkar, General & Family Physician
