Hi, I am having pain under tongue (only left side) and also pain on the left side of the head, particularly near the ear. I have difficulties chewing food - It s painful when my tongue moves. I cannot focus well. This is the second time I am having this problem. Is this a serious problem? - Jade (19 years old, 160cm, 48kg, Healthy)

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to cancer sore. A canker sore is a common cause of pain on or under the tongue. I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the pain.
I also suggest gargling with salty water.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
