What Causes Recurring Pain With Bruise And Bump On Buttocks Post A Fall?

I fell down the steps a couple of years ago, real hard on my right buttock. It was bruised and painful for some time but eventually went away. Now this past week it started to hurt again, it looks bruised and has a hard bump. Why would this happen without further injury.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The hard lump would be formed as a result of scar tissue from the trauma. It is usually not painful but if you are noticing pain then the use of an anti inflammatory pain killer would help.

This includes medications such as ibuprofen, naproxen, cataflam.
One of these can be used, they are over the counter medication.

If the pain persists despite the medication, you should see a doctor.

I hope this helps
