What Causes Recurring Painful Ganglion Cyst On Wrist?

i have had a ganglion cyst and it went away it has come back and my hand is really sore i cant bend my wrist or push anything because the pain is bad, also when i try to sleep my wrist gets sore and it kind of bothers me, my wrist feels like theres something blocking it when i try to move it! can it be carpal tunnel syndrome?
