What Causes Recurring Painful Lumps On The Foot?

i went to a urgent care because of a sudden eruption of lumps in my foot, he told me they are cysts..i take gabapentin for neuropathy ..i had compartment syndrome and emergency surgery last October..these are painful and peculiarly large and growing over a very short period of time... is there any other options besides surgery?
