What Causes Recurring, Painful Pus Filled Blisters On Elbow?

So for the past couple of weeks, I have been having these little pimples on my elbow. At first they don t hurt until they swell up. After a couple of days the swelling of the bump gets worse. What are these bumps and why does my arm keep swelling up and pus comes out?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It can be a folliculitis or boil which is nothing but an infection arising from infected hair follicle.

You can start a short course of antibiotics preferably amoxicillin after consulting your local general practitioner.

Clean the area with clear water and apply topical antibiotics like mupirocin. If there is recurrent attacks, better to surgically remove the affected area.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain
