Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello Doctor , I have a teeny tiny spot like bump on the top waterline of my right eye. This has occurred several times to me in the past year or so. The bump is so small yet I can feel it in between where my eyelids touch when I blink. Is there any explanation of the cause of these bumps? Or any suggestions you might have as to prevent these bumps? Please let me know. Thanking you! -Niamh
Do you have associated itching, scaling(peeling) or pain there? This is likely from chronic inflammation and blockage of small glands there.
There are many small glands on our lids that produce secretions with lubricant and protective actions on eye. If the duct of few such glands are blocked, this will cause pooling of secretions and swelling.
Kindly see an ophthalmologist to confirm the diagnosis. If recurring on the same spot, this can be cured by removing the affected gland.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam TK
