What Causes Recurring Patches On The Skin?

My husband has spots that look like ringworm. They go away with a scrip but sores return as soon as we run out of medicine. They are here the worst in winter. We have no pets and we have a super clean home. He has in the past worked in condemned homes. Can this live and persist for 4 years? We are retured and dont know how to corral this. Thanks

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your husband have symptoms of recurring patches on the skin which seems to be due to infection of a hair follicle and the surrounding skin. It could be due to low immunity in general or due to some underlying disease. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult dermatologist for proper examination and rule out any underlying condition. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like clarithromycin at least for a week along with anti inflammatory and vitamin supplement to boost the immunity . For now apply warm compresses , apply kojic acid cream twice a day for patch and eat healthy diet for immunity . If patch doesn't go then go for laser therapy .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
