Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Recurring rash that starts on neck then moves down torso and when really bad goes to all the way down to my thighs, I though it was from sinus drainage because that s when it normally occurs when my sinus act up, but it s going on now and only problems I ve had is a slight earache, I took an antibiotic last night and symptoms started today, which is the best way to identify what s really going on. I m 41 white male type 1 diabetic, in good shape. Use a insulin pump. The rash thing has happened for the last 10 years normally 2 times a year. Steroid shot normally takes care of it, but no one has really gave me a diagnostic
Hello and welcome to HCM, The rash is not likely to be associated with sinusitis or ear ache. The sinus infection can spread to ear and cause ear infection and thus inflammation. You need to consult an ENT specialist for clinical assessment of ear. In case there is evidence of infection, appropriate treatment can be taken. A rash recurring from last 10 years appears to be a primary skin lesion. Have you had any biopsy from the skin lesion? If yes, then what is the diagnosis on histopathological examination? If no biopsy has been done then you need to consult a skin specialist for clinical assessment and biopsy to make a final diagnosis. Definitive management can be done after clinical assessment and relevant investigations.
