What Causes Recurring Rashes On The Scalp And Neck?

Have ongoing rash .went to dermatologist already. Have follow up early Dec. dxwith nonspecific dermatitis.when I saw the doc had rash at scalp back of neck hairline and on back between shoulders. Reash has appeared on forearms and elbows shoulders outer hips one anterior thigh and lower back. Still on scalp and spread to other areas of scalp. Treatment is Ketoconazole2% shampoo, fluocininide topical solution. DHS clear shampoo. Rash improves after sleep,in morning, exacerbated worse in eve, itchy, painful, burning like, red raised. Tx sine 10 /19 not really getting better. I plan to call again and see a primary Doc. Any suggestions? I also use a lot of alcohol hand foam at work up to 60 and 70% content. The deem. Said allergy tested could be a possibility if it continues. Never had problem like this only allergy is penicillin. Thanks for reviewing

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Most probably it is a fungal infection like seborrhoea. Consult a dermatologist and get evaluated. As the topical preparation is not working, oral antifungal has to be started.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
