What Causes Recurring Rashes On Thighs?

Hi I'm a 23 y.o healthy female and have only slept
With one person in the last four years. I have a rash that keeps reoccurring in the crease of my thighs. It's itchy and red. Sometimes it scabs over. What could this be? I've tried numerous ways to make it stop but it keeps coming back

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic

I would keep a possibility of fungal infection in the groins. Fungal infection in this area commonly presents as Itching associated with redness and scaling.

If I was the treating doctor I would have suggested you to use an OTC antifungal e.g clotrimazole cream, twice daily for 4-6 weeks,

Along with that, I would also suggest an oral antifungal e.g fluconazole 150mg once every week for 4 -6 weeks.

An OTC antihistamine e.g cetrizine 10mg once daily would provide symptomatic relief from itching.

Regular use of an antifungal dusting powder would prevent it from recurring again.

regards
