Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I occasionaly get red blotches on my left arm only. they range from a quarter inch to an inch in diameter but do not itch hurt or leave a bump but they do go away in about a week and leave a scar in fact enough to lift the ink from my tattoos; what could be causing this?
Red blotches on arm could be due to abnormalities of clotting factors. I suggest you to get certain investigations related to clotting factors like complete blood counts with platelet count, peripheral blood smear examination, prothrombin time, activated partial thromboplastin time and thrombin time. Kindly, post the results of these investigations after the reports arrive.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
