What Causes Recurring Sensation Of Tightness In Chest?

I have had reoccuring center chest tightness off and on over one week. I had an echo done last week that was normal. Bp after exercise can go as low as 83/60. I can lean foreward when chest and sometimes bavk tightnesscomes on and it makes it better. I am extremly fatigued so must give up my evening walks. My question-is this gallbladder and not heart? My doctor is having me go in for an ultrasound in February for gallbladder ultrasound. Otherwise he said it is just muscle related. My gut tells me it is my heart.

Hello,

The gallbladder is not expected to cause chest tightness and reduced tolerance to exercise. it is important to you to have a heart ultrasound and ECG and in some cases stress test can be done to make sure the heart is well. Also, the lungs can be sometimes a cause of chest tightness and reduced tolerance to exercise and a chest x-ray and a spirometry might be needed to make sure the lungs are fine.

A CBC to rule out anemia might be indicated as well and a TSH to make sure the thyroid is well and all the so-called metabolic panel (sugar, lipids, liver function tests, kidney function tests, etc) might be good to be done and rule out problems with these systems.

If all comes out normal then very likely it is a muscular pain and nothing to worry.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
