What Causes Recurring Sharp Pain Below The Ribs Long After Gallbladder Removal?

Within the last month, I have had two attacks of severe pain between the middle of the breast bone/rib area. I had my gal bladder taken out 10 years or so. Could there be a a problem with tissue healing? The severe pain this last time lasted about 8 min. Had a hard time breathing, brought on sweats. I kept taking short breaths and used a heating pad. Eventually the pain eased up. Any ideal what could be causing this? Thank you. My email address is: YYYY@YYYY

Hi,

A gall bladder removal will not cause any healing effect problem after 10 years period.

The current issue sounds to be acute ligament stretch involving the lower rib cage or else (as there is relief through heating pad application).

Additional intake of analgesic will help in this instance and later if required, consult your physician for a detailed evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Wish you great health.
