What Causes Recurring Sharp Pain In The Ankle?

I have a sporadic, recurring sharp pain in one ankle. It comes on suddenly, in exact same spot (outside front right ankle) and lasts for approx. 30-60 seconds each time. Sharp, needle-like pain, then goes away. Has varied from several times in one hour to only 3-4 times per day... for last 4 days. What could be causing this?

Hello,

Sporadic, recurring sharp pain in one ankle could be due to possible osteoarthritis. I advise to run an X-ray of the ankle joint to rule that out.

Discuss this further with orthopedic specialist first.

Hope this helps.
