What Causes Recurring Sharp Pulsating Pain Around Left Tricep?

About half a year ago i went to the emergency room for a sharp pulsing pain around my left tricep. The on call doctor told me that she didn t find any apparent issues and said it was probably just a pinched nerve and sent me home with a sling. I ve started having it again and it s beginning to concern me. Is there something i could do on my own for it? And is it probably just a pinched nerve?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome.

A pinched nerve is a possibility but I would also like to rule out a cardiac cause using an EKG. Once good cardiac health has been established, we should also consider a gastric cause like hyper acidity or gastritis or an ulcer which can also mimic symptoms of a cardiac event. So please get an elaborate evaluation conducted and only then allow doctors or medical staff to assume something as simple as a pinched nerve.

Best wishes.
