What Causes Recurring Swelling In Any Part Of The Body, High BP, Shortness Of Breath &B Polysythemia?

I have high blood pressure and Polysythemia......I have had swelling of various parts of my body since I was a teenager...in my early 20 s it started to get worse....Ive had it ever since.....it dosent happen real often, but it just depends on where it strikes my body that concerns me......I am 40 years old now.....I was diagnosed with HBP about 6 years ago....when what I thought I may have had was a stroke in 2008 at 34 years old, my blood pressure read 220 over 130....I was immediatelately sent to UNM regional medical Center in Albuquerque NM.....I was there for a week they did an angioegram of my brain....I had 3rd nearve damage in my right eye.....I could only see double vision....they did CAT scans, exrays, spinal taps, and anything else they could think to do.....they came up inconclusive of a stroke or anything else and didn t know what to tell me.....I was without my regular sight for about 3 months until I went back to the eye doctor that examined me and sent me to UNM.....I saw him a few weeks after getting out of the hospital and he did an eye exam and set me up with a pair of glasses with prism lenses......3 days later my sight returned to normal......amazing!!!!....I couldn t believe it!!!........Later in 2009 I went to Presbyterian hospital for nausea , shortness of breath, weakness... etc.......I was Diagnosed with Polycythemia..... my red blood cell level was over 78%......every since then I get around 6 units of blood removed that is no good that they have to trash, I can never donate blood again........But I ve had this problem with swelling like I said since I was a teenager and even worse since my early 20 s......anyway every time I had this happen to me I would just call my primary doctor.....they could never for the most part ever get me in to see him till 1 to 3 weeks later......when I got in all symptoms were gone (they normally were after about a day or 2)......till one time I made it in the same day with my back and neck and chest abnormally swollen........my Dr. told me I had a strep virus in my body......Anyway fast forward a couple years and once again after many times my Tounge and Throat were swelling.....I decided to go to Emergency this time and was diagnosed with acute angioedema.......not sure exactally what that is or means or even what causes it or the symptoms........they want to take me off of my blood pressure medication Lisonopril 40Mg.....the think that is the problem but I don t......I used to take Norvasc and that made me swell often, but the Lisonopril has not......please help me to understand this new diagnosis...(is this a disease or a disorder?). Thank you in advance, Monte
