What Causes Recurring Swelling In The Lips Post A Bee Bite?

I was bit inside my lips by a honey bee a month ago and my lip swelled a lot but it went back to normal. Two weeks later the symptoms returned and went away. Now today my lip has started swelling up again. Is this normal or did the bee do something to do permanant damage to my lip?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I don't think this reoccurring swelling of lips are as a result of a bee bite. The first swelling is from the bee but this re-occurrence may be due to another allergic reaction probably to a substance you are using or eating.

Please think if you can relate the swelling to something you were eating or a lipstick you were just using.

Hope I have answered the question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka , General & Family Physician
