Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
In May 2015 my scrotum swelled enormously. There has been no paid. I tried cold packs and took diuretic pills, and at times I felt the swelling decreased but recently my scrotum has swollen even a bit more, I think. My urologist admitted to being baffled both by the cause and the cure. He suggested cold packs but didn t think the diuretics would be helpful. I hope you can help me. I turn 76 on November 29, 2016. Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Recurrent swelling of the scrotum could be due to presence of occult infection in the testis or epididymis. It might be temporarily reducing due to conservative treatment you have tried like application of cold packs and use of diuretics. Kindly get an ultrasound scan of scrotum done along with urine culture and sensitivity test to know the presence and nature of infection. Accordingly, you need to take an appropriate course of antibiotics and analgesics to overcome the same. Kindly consult Urologist with the report for clinical evaluation and appropriate management. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
