What Causes Recurring Ulcer At The End Of Big Toe?

Hi,

I was hoping you may be able to offer advice.

My friend gets, what we feel is, an ulcer at the end of his right big toe.

The doctor has been unable to provide a diagnosis, claiming it is a chill blane and will go away by itslef.

My frined is a 61yr old male, great physical shape, not over-weight and a non-smoker.

His ulcer has appeared a second time, last year he was in constant pain for 7 months, it seemed to heal in the summer but now it has resurfaced.

The doctor has peerformed an x-ray which indicates no brake or fracture. We suspect it is an ulcer as the skin breaks away and is an open-wound.

We are at a loss on what to try next, and of course are extremely worried about what an ulcerated toe could lead to if left untreated. He has been tested for diabetes and the results were negative.

Hope you can offer some advise on what to do next.
