What Causes Recurring Ulcers And Sores On Tongue With Swollen Glands In Throat?

Hi, I have painful sores on my tongue and seem to always get ulcers. I have been having a discomfort in my throat as if my glands are swollen.
Also discovered today I have a orange/yellow tinge to the back of my throat and a red sore there also ?
I have been cleaning my teeth regular & using a mouth wash for ulcers
What can it be?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..


As per your complain it seems you are suffering from APTHOUS ULCERS leading to GLOSSITIS along with PHARYNGITIS..
There are a number of causes which are considered as predisposing factors for apthous ulcers but the exact reason is still unknown..
As far as Pharyngitis is concerned it can be Bacterial [Strep throat] or Viral [Mono] in nature and the yellow to orangish appearance of throat and red sore is also due to infection..
For apthous ulcers you can do warm saline gargles.
Gargle with 1:1 solution of Benadryl and milk of magnesia will help..
You can apply a numbing gel over the sores like Oragel for relief from pain especially during eating..
Sucking ice pops can help..
Avoid spicy foods and maintain a good oral hygiene..
Take a multivitamin tablet for a period of 15 days..In case if the ulcers still does not resolve a short course of steroid has to be taken..

For Pharyngitis warm saline gargles, throat lozenges like Vicks cough drops and broad spectrum antibiotics like Augmentin 625 mg thrice a day for 5 days can help..
Chewable Vitamin C tablets can help..
For throat pain Ibuprofen can be taken..
