What Causes Recurring Vomiting?

My grandson will throwing (usually in the mornings) and then he is fine. He throws up food. He clears his throat a lot. Could this be sinus drainage. It has happened about twice a month. No fever--not strep and not flu. Wend to doctor and they keep saying stomach bug but we can t see why it keeps happening the same way. What could it be?
