Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Recurring Yeast Infection In Genitals?
I just got my fourth yeast infection this year so far which means I ve got one every month so far. It s really uncomfortable and I don t think that I should be getting them this frequently when I do everything I should to prevent them (cotton underwear, loose fitting pants, removing clothes after exercise etc.) I don t want to go see my doctor yet but I think it might be worth the trip. Could it be something more serious than just a reoccuring yeast infection?
You are using lubricants or condoms types that are not suiting you. You are suggested to take probiotics. It will help to control recurrent yeast infection. Take a course of oral Fluconazole. Apply clotrimazole ointment on the area affected, Applying Monistat is also effective. Manage stress, take good sleep. Avoid douching. Do not use sex toys. Avoid self pleasure and also any sexual activity for a couple of days.
Avoid using lubricants and condoms for a couple of days as it may trigger the symptoms. Do not wear any ornaments on your private area. Take healthy, home made balanced food. Boost your immunity by taking supplements. Get STD tests done as a precaution.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
