What Causes Recurring Yeast Infection Post Intercourse?

In the last 6 months, i get a yeast infection after my husband & i have sex. I am very clean. I know the importance of cleanliness before & after sex, so that s not an issue. My husband is the same way. Could there be another reason this is happening?

Hello,

I'll sum up what you can do about it:
- regarding hygiene: use just water to clean your vagina. Do not douche it. Douching it may change the normal flora and leave room for pathogens like candida to grow.
- antibiotic use: using antibiotics promotes yeast infections.
- avoid moisture: prefer to wear loose cotton underwear.
- sexual intercourse: it may increase your chances of getting a new yeast infection. If your partner has visible lesions on his penis then he should get treated.
- other conditions: pregnancy is a well-known for the increased rate of yeast infections in the vagina. Checking your blood sugar for diabetes might be helpful too.

I hope I've helped!
You can contact me again, if you'd like any clarification or further information.

Kind Regards!
