What Causes Red And Dry Penis Along With Red Bumps Under Testicles?
Hi, my son is 5 years old and I noticed a few days ago that his penis was very red and dry at the tip and around it, today it got worse as the the bottom part of it is getting red with the some red bumps, under the shaft and testicles, I think he s feeling a bit itchy too. he s went swimming for a few days last week and I m thinking that it could be from the chlorine, what is it and what can I do, cetaphil didn t help ?

Welcome to health care magic,
It could be balanitis or some allergic rashes over the penis but must be confirmed by clinical examiantion.
It would be also helpful for me to diagnose and rule out and if i would inspect the lesion by own eye.
The important thing is to diagnose it first by a clinical examination by a general surgeon or a dermatologist by doing inspection and palpation.
The following treatment would be helpful.
1) Hot Sitz bath-
Sit for 15-- 20 minutes and also clean off any clear or whitish secretion. Do it at least twice a day.
2. Local Steroid cream/ointment application- Clean off and wipe off the area clean and dry,following which apply local steroid ointment like betamethasone.
The infection should start subsiding after 3 to 4 of Ointment application.
3. You can be given oral antibiotics like cephalosporins (cefadroxyl or cefixime) or quinolones or macrolides but only after complete clinical examination.
